This Spirituality and Education Special Interest Group welcomes people to explore the interplay of spirituality and education.  Our interests are diverse — from across the life course in educational and professional contexts, voluntary organisations and  community settings.  

We are continuing to build upon our revised format of a twenty-minute presentation and dialogue.  This provides opportunities for us to learn more about the interplay of spirituality and education across diverse settings.  Please see below for further details about our forthcoming presenter and their presentation. 

Barry Spivak is a prominent figure in the field of consciousness based education.  He has been involved in teaching Transcendental Meditation for over 25years, combining his work with industry with part-time teaching.  A recent publication "Healing Social Divisions" explores the effects of TM on society and consciousness.  His work emphasises the importance of higher states of consciousness in promoting cooperation, reducing social divisions and enhancing the pursuit of happiness and wellbeing.  Barry  will explore consciousness and education.  For further information, please see:
