Supervision as Spiritual Practice:      What's love got to do with it?

Presentation by Robin Shohet

Monday 26th January 2026: 12.00pm - 1.15pm

Robin Shohet has been supervising for over 40 years. He views supervision as spiritual practice, combining an inquiry into love and fear, exploring core beliefs, developing awareness and using appreciative inquiry.

He is the author and editor of several books on supervision in counselling and other health and social care settings. His latest book  'In Love with Supervision. Creating Transformative Conversations',  co-written with Joan Wilmot, records their work together since the late 1970’s.

The presentation will be followed by questions and a group discussion.

Welcoming all INSS members to this SIG focussing upon spirituality, mental health and wellbeing across diverse contexts, including in relation to study, research and practice.

The group emphasises co-creating a safe yet focussed space to reflect, explore and share skills and inspiration together.

The SIG Chairs: Dr Katja Milner, Dr Jill Buckeldee
