This Spirituality and Education Special Interest Group welcomes people to explore the interplay of spirituality and education.  Our interests are diverse — from across the life course in educational and professional contexts, voluntary organizations and  community settings.

We are pleased to welcome Dr Ruth Harris from the Technological University, Dublin. This presentation will focus on the importance of students questioning their assumptions about themselves, their relations with others, and society as a whole, and through critical reflection, becoming more aware of issues of social justice.  It will draw on models of transformative learning, stages of adult development and levels of consciousness, and will touch on contemplative pedagogies as a means of bringing about change.

This presentation provides theoretical and practice insights, enabling attendees to apply it to their own experiences as educators.

The presentation will last approximately 20minutes, followed by group discussion.

We would also like to remind participants of the forthcoming INSS International Conference on 15-17 July 2027 in York, England International Network for the Study of Spirituality - Home.

We look forward to getting together Wednesday 10th June at 3pm UK time.

Warm regards, your co-chairs Sara and Trisha
