Early booking is strongly advised
Ireland is a popular visitor destination and many hotels and bed & breakfast accommodations become fully booked well in advance. It is often possible to secure a booking with a credit card without making full payment until close to the conference date
The Tower Hotel is the conference hotel and venue for the optional conference dinner. It will have a limited number of rooms at a special rate for conference delegates from October (Email: email@example.com, mentioning INSS 2023)
The Viking Hotel is offering a special rate to conference delegates for single room occupancy because of its association with SETU, but bookings must be made by 30 December 2022 (Email: firstname.lastname@example.org, mentioning INSS 2023)
Other venues include The Granville Hotel and Travelodge
A bus will be provided between The Tower Hotel and the Cork Road Campus
on 17 and 18 May, and after the public lecture on 16 May
Dublin Airport to Waterford
There is a JJ Kavanagh coach from Dublin Airport to Waterford. It departs close to the exit door at Dublin airport, from Coach Park, Zone 16. The coach journey takes about 3 hours. The coach company advise booking in good time online. You will see the timetable in both directions by googling JJ Kavanagh Coach Dublin Airport - Waterford.
The coach stops in Waterford at Dooleys Hotel and Parnell St (Rapid Cabs). It is not a long walk to The Tower Hotel, which is the conference hotel – I will check the time to walk it the next time I am in Waterford. My sister, who lives in Waterford, tells me that the Parnell St stop is closer to The Tower (I will check the next time I am in Waterford).
The Granville Hotel is very close to Dooleys Hotel. If you were staying at The Viking, which is offering a very good conference rate until the end of December, you would be advised to get off at Parnell St (Rapid Cabs), to get a taxi to The Viking, or to Travelodge. It is possible to walk from The Viking (25 mins) or Travelodge (about the same) to the SETU Cork Rd Campus where the conference will be held.
